Utilizing integrated software, proven algorithms and decades of chemical applications experience to continuously optimize chemical usage and meet effluent Phosphorus permit compliance levels for major Utilities in the UK: PRESENTATION ONLY

Abinet, R., Kemira Chemicals Germany, GmBH, Germany

(free)

Initiated by the Water Framework Directive (WFD), the UK has been driven to tighten effluent phosphorus levels down to 0.5 mg/l in their Asset Management Plan 6 (AMP6) and even further to 0.1 mg/l in AMP7.  All UK Utilities will face major financial challenges, with respect to updating existing wastewater infrastructure.  One of the lowest CAPEX & OPEX options will be to chemically enhance tertiary treatments (CETT).  It is one of the few ways to ensure meeting effluent permit compliance.  Often, permits are based on a total Phosphorus annual levels, as opposed to daily limits.  This has a major impact on operational budgets.  In addition, UK operational resources are typically area based, meaning that they control multiple wastewater plants from a central location.  What is needed is an auto-optimized dosing system which can remotely maintain effluent Phosphorus Levels, automatically report any deviations from set targets, predict maximum and minimum chemical usages over the fiscal year, and have it all occur in real-time.
