The Northern Ireland Executive Department for Infrastructure Living With Water Programme (LWWP) sets out to protect against flooding; enhance the environment; and grow the economy. For Belfast Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) this means:

  • Identify long term solution for Belfast WwTW to facilitate growth
  • Provide process capacity capable of providing treatment to the required consent standard
  • This will contribute to Inner Belfast Lough progressing to ‘Good’ status under the Water Framework Directive
