▪ This case study has showed the potential of the atmospheric non-thermal plasma (NTP) technology for the treatment of pharmaceutical compounds present in real effluent from WWTP.
▪ The combination with UF pretreatment improved further the overall quality of the wastewater effluent.
▪ There are still challenges in the application of this NTP technology to real effluents, due to variable composition and complexity of this matrix.
▪ This research and NTP treatment optimization will be continued in order to improve its performance under these real application conditions and achieve higher removal efficiencies for pharmaceuticals
