WHY BIOCHAR PRODUCTION FROM BIOSOLIDS?

Biogas production from sewage sludge has been an economical and environmental option to treat sludge, generating heat and power

Anaerobic digestion is a well-stablished process that promotes the separation of the chemical constituents of the sludge (i.e., carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus etc), allowing cost-effective resource recovery.

Thus, this project will complement an existing sludge treatment system, paving the way to a “sludge biorefinery” system to promote a circular economy.
