With the present AMP6 focus on TOTEX reduction, Kier Services were tasked by South West Water to investigate alternative technologies to their standard approach of centrifuge dewatering, that might be viable to replace the ageing dewatering assets at some of their sites, with operability and odour management included in the evaluation criteria. This presentation will cover the trial work and data obtained during the subsequent study, the TOTEX analysis then undertaken and why the latest generation Huber Q-PRESS was selected as a result. Data available from the commissioning of the permanent installations prior to the conference will also be included.
