H2 ambition
- UK Hydrogen Strategy (2021) : 10 GW of low carbon hydrogen production by 2030, which will contribute to the 2050 net zero goal.
- Scotland published its Hydrogen Action Plan at the end of 2022: national ambition of 5 GW of low carbon hydrogen production capacity by 2030 rising to 25 GW by 2045.
- Ireland 2022 : builds on the actions defined in the Climate Action Plan which require, by 2030, the production of a route map to delivery of 1-3 TWh of “zero emissions gas” including green H2.
- Wales: no H2 strategy but positioning in ongoing engagement with UK H2 initiatives and short-term actions.
- Northern Ireland: discussed as part of Path to Net Zero Energy but no H2 production capacity stated
