| The water sector is facing the difficult but imperative task to decarbonise their operations. To meet this objectives, Scottish Water has developed several initiatives, including active monitoring of process emissions, development and trialling of innovative technologies, understanding market appetite for recovered products and use of a digital platform to understand the trade-offs between different interventions and investments.
DecisioTM is the analytics platform selected to support modelling and adaptive planning. The Net Zero application, part of DecisioTM Cloud for Water, is configured to represent all the critical wastewater and bioresources processes and activities, their connectivity and the context within which they need to operate.
This presentation will review the progress and learnings from Scottish Water and Business Modelling Applications on this implementation, which will cover:
– Baseline: the current position and the risks associated to uncertainty of process emissions.
– Technologies for net zero: the trade-offs between mitigation of process emissions, resource recovery technologies and their associated operational and embodied carbon.
– Adaptive planning: scenario analysis to determine least regret investments over the next 30 years, identifying the technologies and the risk associated to the Net Zero target and its affordability. |
