Quantifying the carbon footprint of waste-water treatment

This paper presents the assumptions and outputs of a study to quantify the Scope1, 2, and Scope 3 (operational) and other “avoided” greenhouse gas emissions from a single 450,000 population equivalent waste-water treatment works and bioresources treatment centre.

The methodology described has been used with Severn Trent to develop the “Net-Zero” hub at Strongford WwTW
