In the face of escalating regulatory, environmental, and operational demands, innovative solutions are crucial for the wastewater management sector. BI-Zen Limited’s Optimiser exemplifies such innovation with its mobile, cloud-based, agile data acquisition system, equipped with multi-parameter IoT sensors and self-cleaning mechanisms. This paper presents the Optimiser’s application as a technology showcase, using two case studies, demonstrating the application that has significantly enhanced operational efficiencies and reduce costs. Amidst the most challenging capital delivery programmes within the UK, the Optimiser aids with the provision of granular data sets proven to unlock process headroom and achieving sustainable optimisation of existing wastewater treatment assets. Through the integration of cloud-based tools and IoT technology, it enables access to highquality, non-siloed data sets in real time, facilitating in-depth process evaluations and benchmarking. This approach not only accelerates the digital transformation journey of the water sector but also ensures compliance with stringent environmental standards and helps manage growth through informed, data-driven decisions.
