◼ How we’ve optimised performance at Inverurie
◼ Thanks to Scottish Water who challenged us to do better and lead the integrated team
◼ Inverurie has proven to be one of our most efficient plants, achieving the TP consent through Bio-P performance with no chemical dosing
◼ Final performance test confirmed excellent performance with typically 50% headroom on all compliance criteria
◼ And we’ve taken the learning into the design of Winchburgh which is now under construction
◼ Team collaboration has been exemplary including daily circulation of sample results, daily Team calls and weekly review

Background
◼ Following successful pilot trials Scottish Water had high expectations of RHDHV’s Nereda technology and selected the solution for Inverurie
◼ The project was delivered by ESD with EPS and RHDHV
◼ Delivery progressed smoothly with some good examples of learning from earlier Nereda projects and DfMA used extensively in project delivery
◼ Following process start-up in April 2019 initial tests showed generally good performance, but inconsistent Bio-P performance
◼ Bio-P performance deteriorated in the winter of 2019 and ferric dosing was introduced and retained to maintain compliance in 2020
◼ On 22nd October 2020 RHDHV was challenged that continued use of ferric was considered to be a failure
◼ All committed to a detailed review of performance, reporting before development and implementation of an improvement plan
