Odour dispersion modelling for abatement solutions: reliability in the real world? PRESENTATION ONLY

This contribution will explore the use of and reliance upon the outputs of dispersion modelling software for the design of abatement solutions for industrial process and municipal wastewater operations.  In particular, the focus of the presentation will be upon:

  • The quality of model input data (odour emission measurements, spatial geo-data and meteorological data)
  • The selection and application of modelling software codes
  • “calibrating” theoretical model outputs against real-world human sensory experiences and the application of informed professional judgement.
