Royal HaskoningDHV’s Nereda® technology, an innovative aerobic granular sludge technology, was introduced in 2005. Now, award-winning and proven, there are almost 80 Nereda plants operating or under construction worldwide.

Initially designed for plants with 10,000 PE or more, Nereda technology delivers solutions offering a small footprint, high effluent quality, low power consumption and bio P removal. Recognising smaller scale plants were necessary based on market need and consent requirements, the company developed Package Nereda, specifically designed for plants with a PE of 500-2000. Package Nereda provides an out-of-the-factory scalable solution, with simplified control and fast on-site assembly and start-up, but with the same benefits as a full-scale Nereda plant. The company is also discussing programs of Pacakged Nereda plants to address the capacity shortage in the market required to meet the AMP7 P removal challenge.
