(free)Abstract:
After the recent CIP2 several tertiary technologies have been shown to achieve low phosphorous consents with metal salts addition followed by a settlement or filtration stage, but only one technology also reduced the ammonia at the same time.
DynaSand has been shown to constantly achieve annual average phosphorous consents of 0.1 mg/l repeatedly over many years, however with the DynaSand Oxy low ammonia consents can be meet simultaneously with low phosphorous consents, and with DynaSand Deni total nutrient removal can be achieved.
This paper will present detailed case studies from the UK and other European countries, of all three applications with long term results demonstrated, how the technologies work, and how they can help the water industry meet their future obligations.
