How does global best science quantify CH4
emissions?

• Methane from open tank wastewater treatment − MCF based on actual emissions from 14 full-scale facilities, Bo is max CH4 for given BOD− EF for aerobic processes: 0.018 kg CH4 /kg BOD influent ~3% potential methane CH4 emissions

• Methane from sludge treatment
• Does not attempt to provide EFs for individual sources
• Fugitive emissions will generally be between 0 – 10% of the amount of methane generated; in absence of other data use 5%.
