Bioresources has around the same allowed revenue as e.g. water resources, developer services etc.
Bioresources is worth around £600m per year to the wastewater companies.

Sludge can be used to generate renewable energy. WaterUK view use of bioresources as a key part of delivering Net zero by 2030.

Spreading to land creates environmental challenges but also potential benefits. It sequesters carbon, avoids other type of disposal e.g. incineration and acts as a fertiliser.
