Application of an Innovative technology in the wastewater field

Rationale for the proposed P Targets
Hailsham North 0.08mg/l & Hailsham South 0.1 mg/l
• Pevensey Levels “Favourable Status”: SSSI under section 28 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, needs 0.08mg/l target level.
• Housing Growth: The Operating Techniques Agreement for 0.08mg/l enables housing growth in the Hailsham and surrounding area whilst protecting the Pevensey Levels
• Operating Techniques Agreement: Compliance based on 0.25mg/l, but SW commit to operating the plant to 0.08mg/l. If exceeded, an EA investigation is triggered.
• Polymer Dosing: limit of 1mg/l.
