Impacts of G-force on dewatering centrifuge capacity and performance: PRESENTATION ONLY

Forster, E., Hanson, J.D., and Deighton, J., GEA Westfalia Separator Division, UK

(free)

Impacts of G-force on dewatering centrifuge capacity and performance. An explanation of the G – Volume
scaling methodology.

Hypothesis 1

  • Comparing geometrically similar decanter centrifuges, with an equivalent volume, where one
has a higher g-force, would result in either a higher cake dryness, or a greater capacity.

Hypothesis 2

  • Comparing decanter centrifuges with a different bowl diameter but with the same G x
Volume, the performance and capacity would be the same.
