With the Regulator demanding better value for money, many Water Companies are searching for cost-effective ways of uprating existing assets to treat additional load and/or achieve a tighter discharge consent.  The Eliquo Hydrok Integrated Fixed-film Activated Sludge system (IFAS) technology can be used to quickly and easily uprate an existing activated-sludge plant to meet a variety of duties, including biological nutrient removal, and these will be discussed and compared with some alternatives.  In 2017 Eliquo Hydrok commenced two significant projects with Severn Trent Water and their suppliers: Goscote Sewage Treatment Works, Walsall and Finham Sewage Treatment Works, Coventry.  These will be described in some detail, highlighting the benefits adoption of this new technology will bring, including combination with other Eliquo Hydrok technologies.
