Aims of the project
● Use sequencing to understand the community structure in a digester
● Use BONCAT to see what is active
● Use short reads and long reads to profile the taxonomy of the communities

Experimental design
● Nine AW Sludge Treatment Centres (STCs) with anaerobic digesters were chosen for this study
● These sites use three different pre-treatment processes:
○ HPH (Bas, CQ, Col, and Pye)
○ Monsal (Cam, GB, and KL)
○ CAMBI (Whit and CV)
● Pyewipe was chosen for additional site sampling for the BONCAT study
