PFAS are linked to numerous health issues like cancer, liver damage, decreased fertility, blood cholesterol, increased risk of asthma and thyroid disease.

The ability to accumulate and persist in the environment and living individuals increases the impact:

 Contaminated drinking water supplies

 Contaminated food chain

PFAS concentrations are extremely low so always need to concentrate prior to destruction (otherwise destruction will be prohibitively expensive)
