Design for Manufacture and Assembly off-site can offer a more cost-effective and safer solution. Huber’s skid-mounted sludge thickener, poly plant and pumps package is now being implemented on numerous UK sites and this presentation will provide details of one such case study, from inquiry to operation. How this standardized approach allowed an existing building with limited access to be used in order to keep the overall project cost down will also be included.  The Nereda variant of the activated sludge process is gaining wider use in the UK and performance data from the case study site and other Nereda sites available prior to the conference will be included and discussed, along with how the design catered for dealing with “the unknown”.
