A Disruptive Influence for Waste Treatment

A future without food waste?

Since the 2008 publication of WRAP’s seminal ‘The food we waste’ report, food waste has rarely been out of the headlines. Initiatives such as Think.Eat.Save and Love Food Hate Waste are encouraging consumers to change their behaviours, whilst all major UK retailers are committed to recycling their food waste through anaerobic digestion (AD). But at the same time the European Commission has dropped its Circular Economy package and collections of food waste by local authorities have not met expectations.
