(free)Huber Technology are filtration Engineers specialising in liquid/ solid separation and have experience in screening, grit removal, and sludge handling for A.D. plant. During the paper they wish to stress to the manufacturers of Anaerobic Digestion plant the importance and cost savings that can be achieved by well engineered equipment for pre and post digestion conditioning in wet AD plant and slurry handling for dry plant. Based on their vast experience of equipment supply for the municipal market the equipment has been modified to suit the more arduous duties of AD plant and is now well proven.
Pre-conditioned sludges at up to 15% DS can be screened and then treated to remove the grit. The inorganic grit is removed to avoid silting up the digester and abrasion in the pumps and down stream equipment.
Post digestion Huber offer Screw press’s or belt presses to thicken up the digestate and produce a cake. The press operating at 6 Rpm uses less power and polymer and has reduced maintenance and a lower carbon footprint than Centrifuges.
For fibre removal Huber have a strain press reliably removing oversize under pressure. Site data from a site in Leicestershire will be discussed.
Huber can reduce the sludges to various concentrations as required by by our clients including producing a 95%DS pellet using low temperature dryers.
Reference plants are available in Germany and Spain and in Spain we have 10 screen/ grit removal packages for 1 customer alone. Pictures and data from these sites will be made available during the presentation.
