Manure, household waste and grass silage is co-digested in the Mosserud biogas plant. The produced biogas is upgraded to vehicle fuel in a chemical absorbtion unit. The biofertilizer is distributed to the farmers in the Karlskoga area. The sorted household waste is pretreated in a crusher and waste food depacker. Metal and plastics are separated from the waste and the bioslurry is pumped to and mixed with the manure in the substrate buffer tank. The slurry mix is hygienised before being fed to the mesophilic digesters. Grass silage is pretreated in an extruder for improved methane yield, and VS reduction. The pretreated silage is fed directly to the digesters. The process commissioning has been very smooth without disturbances. The process runs at stabile conditions with consumption of heat, electricity, water and ferric chloride at or below expected levels. Possibilities for further improvement are anticipated.
