AN INTRODUCTION TO SIMUREC – A MODEL LIBRARY FOR THE DYNAMIC SIMULATION OF SOLID WASTE PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY

Due to multiple experiences in the field of planning and engineering of processing plants for secondary materials the Chair of Processing and Recycling of Solid Waste Materials decided to develop a software tool that supports the engineering and the planning of the basic layout of processing plants for secondary material flows. Besides the development of different models of processing steps the detailed description of the material flow and its characteristic parameters is one of the main aspects to be worked out and should be considered as the basis for representative simulation results. The following article describes the features of the developed software tool SimuRec and its theoretical background.
