Bucher presses after first installations in 2007 are now in use almost worldwide for sludge dewatering providing significant advantages to our customers. Not only in reducing to the minimum the biosolids moisture content but also by offering a reliable and fully automated technology. Of course dryness is still the main decision driver but simple operation, reliability, low maintenance, flexibility of use, equipment life time and personal safety are now more and more taken in consideration.
Focus on status of some of our first references
The WWTP of Affoltern am Albis, first HPS 5007 installed, is now in operation since 12 years supplying since start up the highest dewatered sludge cake from Zürich Canton.
After 10 years of operation the press received a rejuvenating cure in 2017 by renewing the control system and implementing new remote control functions.
The newly implemented automated operation way increased filter lifetime by almost +30% and increased performances stability.
The retrofit was also the occasion to conduct an advanced status control of the unit. No sign of significant wear or aging of the equipment structural parts have been noticed.
This status is also confirmed by the very good health of other old presses and some industrial WWTP installed HPS, running almost 24/7 since 7 to 8 years and showing no significant sign of aging.
Installed base status is in line with our design lifetime based on more than 25 years for environmental application.
