The presentation gives an interim report on the development of a technical controlling and
energy management system within the Wupperverband.
In the technical controlling the following tasks will be explained:
• Implementation of a modern operating data processing system
• Development of a reporting system with key performance indicators
• Participation in national benchmarking projects within the wastewater industry

The operational tasks resulting from the energy management process are as follows:
• Set up of a company-wide energy reporting system with the energy consumption the
different energy carrier, the energy costs and the proportion of regenerative energy
production
• Implementation of professional energy purchasing methods and contract systems with
relation to the European Energy Exchange (EEX) in Leipzig,
• Implementation of an energy data management (EDM) system
• Preparation of energy analysis to reduce energy consumption
• Installation of automated power load management systems
